The multi-million dollar brocade weaving village of the Thai ethnic minority in Tan Ky
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of March 23rd, Tien Ky commune, Tan Ky district, held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing Thai Minh as a traditional brocade weaving village.
Previously, the brocade weaving craft in Thai Minh village, Tien Ky commune, Tan Ky district, was small-scale, resulting in products that did not generate high economic value. However, since 2009, after being recognized as a traditional craft village by the Tan Ky District People's Committee, the brocade weaving craft in Thai Minh village has seen new development, with 65 households currently participating.

Along with that, the number of products has continuously increased, with an average of over 20,000 products of various types produced annually by the local people, with a total value exceeding 2.6 billion VND. The average income per worker reaches 2.2 million VND/month.
At the ceremony, authorized by the Nghe An Cooperative Union, representatives presented the certificate recognizing Thai Minh village as a traditional craft village to the villagers. On this occasion, the Tan Ky District People's Committee also provided 20 million VND in support to the villagers.
