Sacred Mai King Festival 2016

(Baonghean) - The 2016 King Mai Festival will take place at the King Mai Tomb (Van Dien Commune), King Mai Temple (Town), King Mai's Mother Tomb and related relic sites.

The festival is an occasion to commemorate the merits of King Mai and his generals and to review the heroic spirit of the uprising to defeat the Northern invaders and build an independent Van An country. At the same time, it educates the people, especially the young generation, about the good traditions of the nation's cause of building and defending the country, in order to increase national pride and love for the homeland.

At the same time, promote and introduce the King Mai relic cluster to attract tourists, investors, and visitors from all over to learn and enjoy cultural values ​​through the King Mai Temple and Mausoleum relics to promote traditional culture and good local customs and practices, thereby developing tourism in the district.

The 2016 Mai King Festival has 2 parts: the ceremony part: solemnly organized, ensuring spiritual and cultural elements. The festival part: diverse, rich, imbued with national cultural identity, focusing on folk cultural games to attract many participants such as: wrestling, tug of war, stick pushing, swinging, swinging, singing folk songs of Nghe An... Coming to this year's festival, people and tourists will be able to attend the flower lantern releasing ceremony on the evening of January 14.

The festival will take place for 3 days from February 20 to 22, 2016 (ie from the 13th to the 15th of the first lunar month).
