A green village comprising 1,000 luxury apartments, equipped with sustainable technology and car-free, will spring up in the heart of South Africa's capital, Cape Town.

| According to CNN, the project is the first of its kind on the African continent, designed by the architectural firm Swisatec. The $900 million development will be located in the Blue Rock resort area in Somerset West, surrounded by famous wineries. |

| "Our apartments are designed to meet diverse individual needs. The development includes the construction of 1,000 luxury apartments on a 400,000 m2 plot of land," said Lukas Reichmuth, founder of Swisatec. |

| Cars will be restricted to main roads or underground parking lots. A top priority of the project is the efficient use of energy, including renewable energy and pre-existing technologies such as LED lighting and water management systems. |
