'Balika Vadhu' fan hangs himself

A female fan of the TV series “Balika Vadhu” committed suicide after actress Pratyusha Banerjee suddenly passed away.

The incident happened in Ram Nagar town (India). Too shocked by the death of her idol, housewife Madhu Mahanand (26 years old) hanged herself on April 7 at her home.

The victim’s husband was the one who discovered the incident. According to the report, when he returned home from work, the husband rang the doorbell repeatedly but no one opened the door even though he could hear the pitiful cries of his 2-year-old son inside.

When he used his own key to enter the house, the husband was shocked to see his wife dead, hanging, next to him was his son about to faint from crying.

Initially, police suspected Madhu’s husband of murdering his wife. However, thanks to Madhu’s parents’ testimony about their daughter’s obsession with the lead actress of “Balika Vadhu”, police concluded that the husband was innocent and released him.

According to the victim's relatives, Madhu showed signs of depression since April 1, after hearing that her favorite actress Pratyusha Banerjee had hanged herself.
