(Baonghean) - Exchangewith herDinh Thi Kieu Trinh - specialist of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An; candidate for the 14th National Assembly.

PV:As a young female official, being trusted to run for the National Assembly for the first time, can you share some information about yourself?

Ms. Dinh Thi Kieu Trinh:I was born and raised in Tan Ky district, in a family of Tho father and Thai mother. When my mother gave birth to twins, 9 months later, my father passed away, and she raised us two children alone. Feeling sorry for my mother's hardships, I have always tried to overcome all difficulties, strive to study and grow up to contribute to the development of my homeland.

After graduating from university, thanks to the policy of attracting high-quality staff to work in Nghe An province, I was accepted to work at the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and have been there for 5 years now. I have constantly strived to improve myself and have achieved achievements such as: "Vietnamese Female Student" Award awarded by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2004; Vu A Dinh scholarship awarded by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in 2008; Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for outstanding achievements in implementing the National Strategy and Program on Gender Equality for the period 2011 - 2015.

PV:How do you feel about running for National Assembly?

Ms. Dinh Thi Kieu Trinh:I realize that the role of a National Assembly delegate is to represent the will and aspirations of the people; to exercise state power in the National Assembly on behalf of the people; to be responsible to the voters and the National Assembly for the performance of their duties and powers as a delegate. With the sense of responsibility and the dynamism and creativity of youth, running for the National Assembly this time will give me the opportunity to contribute my intelligence and enthusiasm to the development of my province and the country in general.

PV:If you are elected by voters of your province as a delegate of the 14th National Assembly, what will you prioritize?

Ms. Dinh Thi Kieu Trinh:As a civil servant working in the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, I will pay special attention and make every effort to contribute to the development and implementation of policies on people with meritorious services, vocational training, labor, employment, poverty reduction, social protection, child care and protection, gender equality and prevention of social evils.

Besides, as a female cadre, born and raised in the mountainous areas, I understand the difficulties and hardships of women in all the countryside. I am clearly aware that in society there are still many gender prejudices and injustices that are barriers for women to rise up and assert their role and position in the family, community and society.

From directly advising on the state management of gender equality and activities for women's advancement in the province, I will always pay attention to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, advising on the effective implementation of gender equality work in 8 areas of social life such as: Politics, economics, labor and employment, education, health, information and communication on gender equality in the family and prevention of gender-based violence. From there, contributing to promoting the completion of socio-economic targets, ensuring national defense and security of the community and locality...
