Giving her husband a new wallet, Ms. Ngan discovered that her British husband had a whole 'storehouse' of her photos, just to... look at them at work to relieve his longing.

This is cShared by Ms. Thu Ngan (born in 1988), an auditor, currently living in London. She and her British husband, Simon, have a beautiful love story that many people admire.

"I bought my husband a wallet for his birthday this May. Although I gave him many small gifts on previous birthdays and holidays, this was the first time I bought him a wallet because I saw that he had used that wallet for about 5 years. I knew that he kept my photo in his wallet, but because I never checked, I didn't know which photo he kept and when he put it in. Thanks to this time, I discovered a little secret, which made me happy and made me love him even more," Ms. Ngan shared.

Ms. Ngan is happy with her British husband.

Below is a status revealing the "interesting secret" Ms. Ngan discovered after 5 years with her husband:

This month is his birthday month. A few months ago, I happily invited him: "From now on, when we go shopping, if I see anything interesting, I will start buying you a birthday present." He quickly interrupted: "Thanks. But you should wait until closer to the day to buy it, there are still 3 months left."

He had his reasons for being stubborn. I was impatient. When I bought a gift, I had to give it right away. I couldn’t wait until his birthday. He liked the gift too, but receiving it 3 months in advance was a bit early.

A few days ago, while shopping in central London, I found a gift for you. So, although your birthday is near the end of this month, you received your birthday present at the beginning of the month. Well, 3 weeks early is still better than 3 months early.

I bought him a dark brown leather wallet. The one he was using was very old and had started to fade. He was very happy and surprised when he received my gift. Actually, giving gifts on the wrong day has its advantages. Since he didn’t expect to receive a gift, there was a small joy in the surprise.

He looked at it for a while, thanked me, and then started transferring things from his old wallet to his new one. I sat beside him, enjoying watching him arrange things. It had been a long time since I had seen what he kept in his wallet. Besides some cash and shopping cards, I was surprised to discover that he had four small, ID-sized photos of me in his wallet.

The first one was a photo of the two of us together three years ago in an instant camera. The other three were portraits of me at different stages. One was taken when I graduated from college, one was when I first applied for my wedding visa, and one was taken to renew my visa after two years. In short, it seemed like every time I took a portrait, he would take one and put it in his wallet.

- "Why do you have so many pictures of me in your wallet?", I asked.

- "Because I want to see you all day," he replied, smiling.

- "You don't need that many photos. My face looks ugly in this one, please take it out", I pulled out the graduation photo. My face in this photo looked dark and had lots of acne. And 3x4 portrait photos for ID cards never look good.

- "Oh no. I like this photo. You look beautiful in every one of them," he snatched it back and put it in his wallet.

The new wallet didn't have see-through compartments like the old one. He used the first short compartment to put the photos in. Half of them were still sticking out. One was particularly large and wouldn't fit. "This one doesn't fit," I told him. "You can leave it. Three is enough."

He tried different styles, horizontal and vertical, but it still wouldn't fit. Not willing to give up, he used scissors to trim the white border until the photo fit his wallet. "It's perfect now," he smiled, seemingly satisfied.

He pulled it out and put it in his pocket and said, "I'll put it in the first drawer, so I'll see you more often. When I'm at work, I'll pull it out like this to see you and kiss you."

Then he took out my photo and kissed it, making me laugh out loud.

I told him: "You should put more pictures of the baby."

He nodded and smiled: "Yes, that's right. We should have a picture of the baby."

Maybe this time when I make a passport for my child, I will have an extra 3x4 photo of my child to put in my wallet.
