Boeing has won a contract to manufacture 24 Apache helicopters for Qatar.
According to an announcement from the US Department of Defense (June 7thBoeing has just reached an agreement to sell 24 Apache helicopters to the Gulf nation of Qatar, worth more than $660 million.
The Apache helicopter purchase contract between Boeing and Qatar includes 24 Apache AH-64E helicopters, ground support equipment, Thales radios, and a pilot training system. Boeing will manufacture the Apache helicopters in Mesa, Arizona, USA. The contract is expected to be completed by the end of May 2020.

The Apache AH-64 attack helicopter is likened to a flying tank, capable of engaging in heavy assault operations. The AH-64E is the latest variant of the Apache AH-64, designed with a wingspan exceeding 5 meters and a top speed of 279 km/h. The Apache AH-64 can inflict significant damage on enemy infantry forces with its laser-guided Hellfire missiles, 70mm rockets, and 30mm automatic cannon.
Another highly valued feature of the AH-64 is its ability to operate day and night, even in adverse weather conditions and limited visibility.
To date, Boeing has manufactured more than 2,100 Apache helicopters for international customers including Egypt, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Qatar will be the next country to join this list.
