Building Vinh into the most livable place in Vietnam.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 9th,tAt the People's Committee of Vinh Tan Ward, comradeNguyen Thi Thu Huong -Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee,The Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc held a meeting with voters in Vinh City. This activity was part of the voter outreach program prior to the second session of the Provincial People's Council.

Also attending were representatives of the Vinh City People's Council and voters from the eight wards and communes of Vinh City.

At the meeting with voters, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong reported on the results of the first session of the 12th Provincial People's Council and the agenda for the second session of the Provincial People's Council.

Comrade Le Van Ngoc - Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council - reported on the results of the 21st session of the Vinh City People's Council and informed voters about some socio-economic development situations of the province and city in the first six months of 2016.

Next, voters focused their speeches on the following key issues: land reclamation for construction projects and fire prevention measures related to the power station planning in Block 5, Hong Son Ward. They also requested repairs to the two dilapidated pavilions at Vinh Market. Voters in Vinh Tan Ward raised concerns regarding the issuance and renewal of land use rights certificates and waste management on agricultural land. Finally, they questioned the inadequate funding for the National Assembly and People's Council elections at all levels.

Voters also raised concerns about the fact that people have not yet received compensation for agricultural crop losses during the recent severe cold spell. They also questioned the fairness of compensation rates for agricultural land expropriated for projects and requested increased supervision of the quality of basic construction projects.

In addition, voters also raised issues regarding the equitization of Cau Duoc Cement Company; planning of the wastewater system and pollution control of the city's water sources; tightening management to prevent the trade and consumption of unsafe food in the city; strengthening supervision of the competence and moral character of officials and civil servants; expediting the resolution of benefits and policies for those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution; building centralized slaughterhouses; and improving the benefits for officials of the Fatherland Front at all levels.

Voters also hope that the entire political system will work together to make Vinh City one of the most livable cities in Vietnam.

At the meeting with voters, provincial and city People's Council representatives answered voters' requests within their authority and recorded opinions to be forwarded to the second session of the Provincial People's Council in the near future.
