The SLNA players entered the match with very high determination.

Welcoming HAGL to their home ground after four recent defeats, SLNA fielded three forwards – Tuan Tai, Salia, and Odah – from the start. Facing the pressure to win, Coach Ngo Quang Truong's players were more proactive than the visitors. This was evidenced by Odah's opening goal in the 9th minute. In this situation, midfielder Khac Ngoc delivered a trademark long pass, Odah successfully beat the offside trap, bypassed the HAGL goalkeeper... and his only remaining task was to put the ball into the empty net. Having taken an early lead, SLNA seemed to relieve the pressure and played relatively well. Besides Tuan Tai's missed opportunities, striker Odah had several chances in the following minutes.

In the 26th minute, Odah received a pass from Salia, dribbled past two opposing defenders, and unleashed a powerful shot with his weaker foot. Unfortunately, the Nigerian striker's shot went straight to goalkeeper Van Tien. From this point on, the ball was constantly pushed forward to the striker born in 1992. In the first half of this match, SLNA's defenders and defensive midfielders played relatively focused. In particular, midfielders Ngoc Toan and Khac Ngoc played with great commitment. After HAGL's missed opportunities, in the 34th minute, Salia passed the ball to Phi Son just outside the penalty area. The midfielder born in 1992 unleashed a dangerous shot with the inside of his foot. However, he only received applause from the Thanh Vinh crowd as the ball hit the crossbar and went out. In the following minutes, Phi Son continued to threaten HAGL's goal with dribbling and long-range shots…

Towards the end of the first half, noticing that SLNA's right flank was ineffective and constantly being exploited, coach Ngo Quang Truong brought on center-back The Nhat to replace Ho Sy Sam, a position previously held by defender Dinh Hoang. The first 45 minutes of the match ended with a 1-0 score, much to the satisfaction of over 5,000 spectators at Vinh Stadium.

In the second half, HAGL's coach Nguyen Quoc Tuan reinforced the defense, which had been rather disorganized in the first half, by bringing on Bui Tran Vu to replace Tran Huu Dong Trieu. In the first 10 minutes of the match, SLNA's most significant chance was a long-range shot from striker Ho Tuan Tai that narrowly missed the post. Although the 1995-born player's shot was unsuccessful, it still received applause from the fans.

In the following minutes, HAGL refused to accept being behind and continuously launched attacks in their own half. However, on a day when central defenders Ngoc Hai and Van Khanh played with great concentration, all of HAGL's attempts could only result in missed opportunities.

In the 59th minute, Odah once again threatened the visitors' goal with a skillful lob over goalkeeper Van Tien. Unfortunately, the striker missed his tenth goal as the ball went just wide. While HAGL were still struggling to regain control of the game, Vo Ngoc Toan tested the goalkeeper with a long-range shot from outside the penalty area, but Tien Anh made a timely save.

Shortly afterwards, from a counter-attack in Salia's attempt to get the ball into the box, Khac Ngoc, in a comfortable position, failed to control the ball, extending SLNA's lead to 2-0. At this point, with more than half of the second half gone, the pace of the game began to slow down due to the lackluster performance of HAGL's captain Ideguchi and the declining fitness of SLNA's midfielders. From here, both HAGL and SLNA made substitutions in the midfield. In the 75th minute, HAGL defender Bui Van Long left the field to make way for A Hoang. Before that, midfielder Thanh Phong came on to replace Ho Khac Ngoc. After Van Toan's (HAGL) header hit the post in the 76th minute, the SLNA coaching staff further reinforced their defense with a substitution of Pham Xuan Manh for Vo Ngoc Duc.

Towards the end of the match, SLNA nearly doubled their lead with a header from Ho Tuan Tai. Unfortunately, the SLNA striker was offside beforehand. In the final minutes, several clear chances were created towards both teams' goals, but the 1-0 scoreline remained in favor of SLNA. The match ended with Vo Ngoc Toan receiving his second yellow card for unnecessary reaction. Nevertheless, this was still a promising performance from Nguyen Manh and his teammates.

Despite defeating HAGL and securing 21 points, Coach Ngo Quang Truong's team remains in 11th place. Following SLNA are HAGL (15 points), Long An, and Dong Thap.
