Arrest and search of prosecutor's house

On the morning of September 9, Department 1, Investigation Department, Supreme People's Procuracy served the decision to prosecute the accused and order to temporarily detain Le Ngoc Pho, prosecutor of Nha Trang City People's Procuracy, Khanh Hoa province.

Mr. Pho's house is in Phuoc Trung village, Phuoc Dong commune (Nha Trang city).

On the afternoon of September 9, Mr. Tran An Khanh, Secretary of the Nha Trang City Party Committee (Khanh Hoa) confirmed that a prosecutor working at the Nha Trang City People's Procuracy had just been arrested in connection with a case.

According to private sources, on the same morning, Department 1, Investigation Department, Supreme People's Procuracy proceeded to serve the decision to prosecute the accused and the order to temporarily detain Le Ngoc Pho, prosecutor of Nha Trang City People's Procuracy.

On the same day, a representative of the Nha Trang City People's Procuracy said that the investigation agency read the arrest warrant to Mr. Pho at the agency.

The investigation agency served the decision to arrest Mr. Pho.

According to initial information, prosecutor Le Ngoc Pho was arrested for receiving money from a suspect in a drug trafficking case that he was assigned to investigate.

During a quick search of Mr. Pho's house in Phuoc Trung village, Phuoc Dong commune (Nha Trang city), the investigation agency seized a number of documents to serve the investigation.

Through local investigation, local people said that Mr. Pho recently bought a house and moved to Phuoc Trung village to live. Because he lives a quiet life, people do not know much about him.
