Two hotels in Nha Trang and Phu Quoc have had their star ratings revoked.

A 3-star hotel in Nha Trang and a 4-star hotel in Phu Quoc have had their star ratings revoked by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism for failing to meet service quality standards.

These are the results of an inspection conducted by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism from September 5th to 10th at 29 3- to 5-star hotels in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, and Kien Giang. Two establishments had their star ratings revoked: Thang Long Nha Trang Hotel and Blue Lagoon Hotel in Phu Quoc.

Upon inspection, these two hotels were found to have failed to meet the service quality standards for their recognized star rating. Currently, the facilities are outdated and inconsistent; some services are under repair and incomplete. Hygiene, security, fire safety, and food safety standards are not met; and staffing is insufficient and inadequate…

In addition, 11 hotels were also reprimanded for some shortcomings and were required to rectify the situation and invest in quality upgrades within 3 months.

Previously, a number of hotels also had their star ratings revoked due to failure to meet infrastructure, facilities, and staffing requirements. In August, six hotels in Hanoi and three hotels in Thai Nguyen had their ratings revoked. In June, six hotels in Ha Long, Hue, and Nha Trang had their stars revoked.

Currently, the country has more than 20,100 accommodation establishments with 400,000 rooms, including 101 five-star hotels, 229 four-star hotels, and 463 three-star hotels. Improving and upgrading the quality of accommodation establishments is one of the measures being implemented by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to create a breakthrough in the tourism industry.
