Usually, when upgrading to a new version, most manufacturers increase the selling price of their car models. Because the new version often has many differences in design, more powerful engines and more comfortable interiors.
For some minor upgrades, the selling price usually increases by 20 to 30 million VND, while for models with strong changes in design, engine upgrades and interior like the recent Toyota Innova 2016, the selling price can increase by hundreds of millions of VND.
Only a few car models still keep their selling prices due to the manufacturer's own policies, wanting to stimulate demand through new criteria and versions but the price remains unchanged.
1. Honda Accord 2016

The 2016 version of this model has many changes in both exterior design and interior upgrades, especially in the front of the car. |
Instead of the old headlight model, the 2016 Honda Accord has been replaced with a new headlight system, fog lights, front turn signals and Full LED daytime running lights, the air vents have also become wider and more aggressive, and the hood has more ribs.
In addition, the car's grille is a mix of the design of its two "brothers" Civic and City with large chrome bars and the H logo in the middle. Details such as the rims, rear LED lights and sunroof also have a sportier and sharper design than the old version.
However, the 2016 Honda Accord exclusively for the Vietnamese market still uses the same engine block as the old version, i-VTEC DOHC, 2.4L capacity combined with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Therefore, the manufacturer still keeps the price of this car model at 1.47 billion VND.
2. Toyota Altis 2016

On May 17, Toyota Vietnam introduced a new upgraded version of Altis 2016, equipped with improvements such as electric rearview mirrors, automatic folding and the same color as the body. |
Inside, a 7-inch DVD screen supports HDMI connection instead of a 6-inch screen, wifi and voice control on the 2.0 CVT version. A 4.2-inch TFT multi-information screen is color instead of monochrome like the old version.
In addition to the above upgrades, Toyota still maintains the interior and exterior design of the 2016 Altis. In Vietnam, Toyota sells 3 versions of the 2016 Altis including the 2.0V version and the 1.8G version, both equipped with a CVT transmission. The 1.8G version uses a 6-speed manual transmission.
Because it only adds new features, the new Toyota Altis 2016 still keeps the same selling price of 795 million for the 1.8G manual transmission version, 848 million for the 1.8G CVT transmission version and 922 million for the 2.0V CVT-i version.
3. Hyundai Santafe 2016

Possessing many differences from the 2015 version such as: round xenon headlights, fog lights with additional borders, 3D LED taillights, but Hyundai Santafe 2016 still keeps the same selling price from 1.1 billion VND for the 1-wheel drive gasoline engine version and 1.3 billion VND for the 202 horsepower 2-wheel drive diesel engine version. |
In addition, the car also has 19-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels with a simpler, stronger design than the 2015 version's 5-spoke flower-shaped alloy wheels, along with many modern features.
In particular, SantaFe 2016 has quite interesting upgrades in operation and upgrades for the diesel engine, besides still keeping 2 versions: Standard 1-wheel drive and Special 2-wheel drive.
However, the interior of the car has not changed compared to the previous version, except for the leather seats that have been given the option of beige color to give a brighter feeling. Therefore, the price of the "domestic" Santafe 2016 is kept the same by the manufacturer to increase competitiveness.
4. Toyota Vios

The car model that has been at the top of the best-selling car rankings for the past two years is showing signs of "cooling down". Therefore, Toyota has launched a new version of this car model. |
However, Toyota Vios only changes the engine, the rest of the exterior and interior of this model remain unchanged.
The new engine is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i with code 2NR-FE for 107 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, maximum torque of 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm, replacing the old 1NZ-FE engine used since 2003, when Vios first appeared in Vietnam.
Therefore, Toyota does not change the selling price of Toyota Vios like the upgrades of other models. Specifically, the 1.5E MT version remains at 564 million, the new 1.5E CVT costs 588 million and the 1.5G is still 622 million, while the Limo version remains at 532 million.
