Tourist dies while taking pictures near elephant

An Italian tourist in Kenya was attacked by an elephant while approaching it to take a photo.

Muchangi Mutava, the police chief of Malindi, said the victim saw the elephant at the waterhole on September 18 while having breakfast with his wife in their tent, according to the Toronto Sun. When he approached the animal to take a photo, the man accidentally provoked it and was attacked. He suffered serious injuries to his left leg and later died at the camp. The victim was a 66-year-old tourist who was vacationing with his wife at Swara Camp, Kulalu Ranch, Kenya.
