The 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature is normally announced in the same week as the other Nobel Prizes in Science, but it was announced in a separate week. Many have suggested that there was a problem within the jury, but this has been denied. Instead, the Swedish Academy has said it was a logistical issue between the awards.
Bob Dylan has been awarded the prize for his poetic expression in the great American musical tradition, the Swedish Academy announced.
