Accompanying young people to start a business
(Baonghean) - Capital for economic development is always a difficult problem. Do Luong District Youth Union established the "Youth Entrepreneurship Fund" to support low-interest loans for economic models.
Many effective models
Following the Do Luong District Youth Union cadres, going up National Highway 15, we arrived at My Son commune, bordering Nam Dan district, to visit the farm model of Mr. Nguyen Cong Than, one of the union members who dared to think and act, taking advantage of the advantages of his hometown to develop the economy and strive to become rich legitimately.
Since 2015, Mr. Than has decided to build a comprehensive farm. He has zoned off the area to raise meat chickens, each batch of more than 2,000 chickens, selling them to restaurants and eateries, earning tens of millions of dong annually. Mr. Than also raises goats, pigs, cows... to increase his income. In particular, with 5,000 m2 of ponds, he has renovated the ponds to raise freshwater fish, harvesting and selling regularly. In addition to industrial crops, he has planted dozens of off-season lemon trees...
From a variety of crops and livestock, Mr. Than's family has an income of more than 200 million VND per year. Mr. Than shared: "In addition to the encouragement of my family, I also received support from the District Youth Union. In addition to lending capital of 30 million VND, the District Youth Union also created conditions for me to go to provinces and cities for training and learning experiences to serve the process of starting a business in my hometown."

Born in 1992, after graduating from Nghe An Pedagogical College, from his experience working part-time as a transporter of fresh turmeric for a facility, Nguyen Dinh Tuan in Hamlet 5, Xuan Son Commune started a business producing turmeric starch in his hometown. He boldly borrowed 200 million VND, invested in machinery to produce turmeric starch, creating jobs for 5 workers in the area.
Tuan confided: “Accessing the consumer market is still difficult and raw materials must be imported from Ha Giang, the cost is very expensive. The price to produce starch is not cheap, so it was very difficult to sell in the beginning, sometimes I thought I was on the wrong path…”. But with the will to rise, Tuan started production, learned from experience in books, from models, increased product promotion on social networks and reached many people. During that process, Tuan was interested in Do Luong District Youth Union, supported with capital and found output for the product. Up to now, the job has gradually stabilized, the turmeric starch processing profession brings Tuan's family nearly 200 million VND per year.
One of the typical examples of young people getting rich in their hometown of Do Luong is the hill chicken farming model of Mr. Tran Huu Duc, in Thuan Son commune, currently has 3 chicken farms, including 19 breeders, 4 caretakers and managers. These farms are raising 17,000 chickens from 1 to 4 months old. Each year, Mr. Duc's farm sells about 48,000 meat chickens, bringing in a revenue of about 5.5 billion VND; after deducting expenses, the net profit is about 1.2 - 1.3 billion VND. In addition, Mr. Duc's farm also creates regular jobs for 5 workers and 8 - 10 seasonal workers.
Creating conditions for startups
Currently, the Youth Union at all levels in Do Luong are holding congresses and perfecting the grassroots Youth Union. During that process, the task of accompanying young people to establish their careers in their hometowns has been included in the core tasks of the Youth Union at the grassroots level. This is one of the continuing goals that the District Youth Union has been strengthening in implementing over the past many years.
In 2014, Do Luong District Youth Union established the Youth Entrepreneurship Club, which currently has 43 members. Periodically, the Club gathers at a member model to exchange, learn from each other’s good practices and gain experience in business thinking. During these meetings, the Club invited district leaders and departments of Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Extension, Finance, etc. to participate to support knowledge about policies and science and technology.
In particular, the meetings also had the presence of businesses and companies supplying seeds and food to listen to the wishes of young union members starting a business, thereby agreeing on support plans for union members.
