(Baonghean.vn)

(Baonghean.vn)- This year, turning 62 and having been a Party member for 40 years, although retired, whenever there are happy or sad events in the family, the people of Lam village still seek her out to hear her explain right from wrong. To them, she is like an elder sister in the village because of her virtuous character. She is Ms. Ha Thi Hon, former Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Tri Le commune, a highland area, and an exemplary Thai ethnic woman.

"Excellent in public affairs - Competent in domestic matters."

The radiant smiles of Mr. and Mrs. Ha Nhu Hung - Ha Thi Hon

Born and raised in a poor Thai ethnic family in Tri Le, Ms. Hon's childhood was spent working in the fields and accompanying her mother to catch shrimp and small fish in the Nam Chot river. In the 1960s, Tri Le, her hometown, was a remote and impoverished area. Wanting to escape poverty and hardship, her parents provided her with every opportunity to study. Eager to learn and excelling in her studies, in 1967 she became the first Thai ethnic woman in the area to graduate from junior high school (nowadays called lower secondary school). After graduation, she returned to her local community with youthful enthusiasm, ready to take on any task. In 1968, she joined the Party and was assigned to be the Secretary of the Vietnam Labor Youth Union in Tri Le commune. After a short midwifery training course at Que Phong Hospital, young Party member Ha Thi Hon was entrusted by the organization with the additional role of Head of the commune's Health Station. Despite her busy schedule, thanks to her efficient planning, she successfully completed all her duties. After getting married, she transitioned to working in women's affairs, serving as the Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women's Union in Tri Le commune. In 1976, due to health reasons, Ms. Ha Thi Hon retired under Decree 176. Immediately afterward, she was trusted by the villagers and elected as the head of Lam village, a position she held continuously until her final retirement in 2004. Whether as the Chairwoman of the Women's Union or as a grassroots Party member, in every role she held, she worked wholeheartedly, deserving the trust and affection of everyone.

To excel in all assigned tasks and duties, she received much encouragement and support from her husband, Mr. Ha Nhu Hung, a Border Guard officer who worked at Post 519. After retiring, he joined the community in Tri Le and was entrusted with the position of Chairman of the commune. As responsible local leaders, their family has always been a shining example in their daily lives, work, and duties. Their sons and daughters receive constant care and education from their parents. All of them have been raised and educated well, thus quickly becoming promising young cadres for the border commune of Tri Le. Speaking about Mrs. Ha Thi Hon's family, Mr. Lo Xuan Phong, Secretary of the Tri Le Commune Party Committee, happily remarked: "This is an exemplary Party member family in Tri Le." The family consists of six adults, from parents to sons and daughters, with five Party members, and moreover, they are all outstanding Party members. Currently, Mr. Ha Cong Cu, the eldest son, is the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Tri Le commune. The remaining members are all assigned and fulfilling their responsibilities in the Lam village residential area. After retirement, Mr. Hung and Mrs. Hon, in addition to their pensions, also work on their fields and raise chickens and pigs to supplement their family income. Their grandchildren are well cared for and educated, so they are all very well-behaved and receive awards from Tri Le Primary School every year.

In her spacious, airy stilt house by the Nam Chot river, when asked about her aspirations to help Lam village rise to the same level as other villages, Mrs. Ha Thi Hon, a Party member with 40 years of Party membership, said: "As Party members and senior citizens who have earned the trust of the villagers, my wife and I are ready to contribute to motivating and encouraging everyone to actively participate in and effectively implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and Government. Together with the people of Lam village, we strive to become a model residential area." She smiled confidently.
