Three works won awards at the 2010 PTL Photo and Reportage Festival on the ASEAN community

(Baonghean) -On the evening of October 31, the Award Ceremony of the 2010 Photo, Documentary and Reportage Festival on countries and people in the ASEAN community took place in Hanoi.

The contest was launched from May 17 to September 30, 2010. The Organizing Committee of the Festival received 65 documentary and reportage works (including 22 foreign works, 43 Vietnamese works); 451 photo works (including 118 foreign works, 333 Vietnamese works). From October 5 to 10, in Hanoi, the preliminary round jury (consisting of 2 jury boards: photo judges and documentary - reportage judges) conducted the judging of the entries in a serious and objective manner to evaluate the content and quality of the works.

As a result, 22 works in the documentary and reportage genres and 14 photos were nominated for the final round; 86 works were nominated for display at the Award Ceremony. The Organizing Committee awarded 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 10 third prizes and 17 consolation prizes. Of which, 3 first prizes include the photo series "Work on the farm..." by author Zaw Zaw Tun (Myanmar), "Mekong Chronicle" (Ho Chi Minh City Television Studio) and "The Sewing Needle" by Anderson EE- (Malaysia).

Notably, among the 36 award-winning works, Nghe An was honored to have 3 award-winning works, all belonging to the Nghe An Journalists Association, including the Radio and Television Station and the Nghe An Newspaper. These are the third prize-winning photo group “Remembering the Western Truong Son” by journalist Tran Duy Ngoan, the consolation prize-winning photo work “Love of Vietnam and Laos” by journalist Sy Minh, and the documentary “Beautiful Laos” by the group of authors Le Huu Phac-Thanh Hung and Minh Tan.
