The village pond

Near the cultural house of hamlet 3, Hung Dao commune, there is a village pond of over 1,500 square meters. It has long been a wild place, overgrown with weeds and has become a "public trash pit" for nearby households.

Many households also throw animal carcasses, plastic bags... into the pond, making the environment increasingly polluted. Mosquitoes, insects, and bacteria in the pond continue to breed... But because it is a "village pond", few people care whether it is dirty or clean, polluted or not...

Last year, the members of the war veterans association in the hamlet took over the village pond, worked hard to build the pond, dig drainage ditches to raise lotus and fish. Under the hard work of Uncle Ho's soldiers, lotus flowers covered the water surface. In the summer, lotus flowers bloomed together, spreading their fragrance all over the area. Now, the village pond has become a clean, green landscape, a place for the neighbors to relax and confide in each afternoon... And the fish pond also brings in a good income for the war veterans association members in the hamlet, helping them improve their lives and reduce poverty.

From the story of the village pond, the story of the war veterans in hamlet 3 Hung Dao to see the responsibility of each person towards the community.
