(Baonghean) -This morning, March 1, 2011, hundreds of students of the General Nursing Intermediate Program of the Vietnam-Australia Intermediate Program (located in Vinh City, Nghe An, training in association with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy) gathered in front of the school gate to protest the school's suspension of their studies. The reason is that they have not paid the 5 million VND that the school calls the training fee in Australia.
According to these students, this fee is not included in the admission notice. When students disagreed with the fee, the school called it a school construction fee, asked to pay it within a short period of time and reduced it from 5 million to 3 million VND.
In addition, some students reported that they had paid but did not receive a receipt and the school still demanded to pay this amount again. On February 28, the school suspended the students who had not paid the above amount. On the morning of March 1, due to dissatisfaction with the suspension, hundreds of students surrounded the school gate to protest, a teacher of the Vietnam - Australia School used harsh words towards these students.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Dau Van Cam (Vice Principal of the school) said that the cause of the incident as well as the solution cannot be answered immediately but must wait for the presence of the school's Board of Directors and representatives of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Mr. Cam also said that due to the nature of joint training, at the beginning there was no agreement between the training institution and the students. It is known that this course has been studied up to the 3rd semester, but there is only a memorandum of agreement between the Vietnam - Australia College and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. When asked about the school's revenue, Mr. Cam replied: The school has based on Circular No. 35/2009/TT-BGDDT dated December 3, 2009 of the Ministry of Education and Training in Chapter 5, Article 23, Clause d, which guides: "Tuition and fees collected from students are at the level established by the school itself on the principle of ensuring cost recovery, being accepted by society and in accordance with the provisions of law".
Asked about the case of some students who paid this amount without receipts, the school leaders said they would re-examine. As for the reason why there was an inconsistency in the amount of 5 million being reduced to 3 million, it was known that it was the proposal of the school's vice principal (Mr. Cam - PV) to the Board of Directors because it was deemed appropriate.
At the meeting with reporters, the school leaders promised to resolve everything soon and have an explanation right after the meeting with 3 parties: Vietnam-Australia College, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the students.
