Strengthening drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management

On April 28, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee held a meeting to discuss the development of a drug rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation management program in the province for the 2011-2015 period; the results of 4 years of implementing Resolution No. 10/NQ-TU (term XVI) on "Promoting the application and development of information technology until 2010 and orientation to 2020". Comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the meeting.

According to the assessment, the work of drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management in recent times has created a change in awareness among all classes of people about the harmful effects of drugs and initially controlled and restrained the growth rate of drug addicts in the province. In the application and development of information technology in the political system and schools; services and infrastructure serving information technology have developed well. However, the application of information technology, especially the software industry and digital technology, has not met the requirements.

Concluding the working session, Comrade Phan Dinh Trac requested the Provincial People's Committee to thoroughly analyze the effectiveness of drug rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation management in the province in the period of 2006-2010 to build and contribute ideas to achieve higher efficiency in the next period. He also suggested the general goals of the drug rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation management program in the period of 2011-2015, which are to control and manage drug addicts; reduce relapse; limit and increase new HIV infections through drug addicts; limit the harm from drug addicts to the community. It is necessary to mobilize the combined strength of the whole society in managing and helping drug addicts combined with the efforts of the drug addicts themselves and their families. Linking drug rehabilitation with drug prevention and control to create a healthy social environment. Increase funding to support drug rehabilitation management, including facilities, equipment, full-time and part-time staff, and support for addicts. Relevant agencies need to conduct research to introduce new, more effective drug rehabilitation methods.

Regarding the application and development of information technology, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: In order for the application and development of information technology in the province to continue to change more strongly, 100% of agencies and units in the political system from the province to the grassroots level are required to apply software in their management, operation and professional work. Raising awareness to promote the application and development of the information technology industry. Focusing on training human resources in information technology. Managing projects and programs related to information technology for the right purposes; resolutely reclaiming projects that are used for the wrong purposes.
