Our cadres must be good at what they say and do!
In the development of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration, the role of the team of political leaders has, is and will contribute very importantly to the common cause of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people. They are the example for the masses to follow, build a new lifestyle, and fight against social negativity. Therefore, in the work of cadres, the cause of building revolutionary ethics for the team of political cadres is both fundamental and long-term, but more urgent than ever!
(Baonghean) -In the development of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration, the role of the team of political leaders has, is and will contribute very importantly to the common cause of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people. They are the example for the masses to follow, build a new lifestyle, and fight against social negativity. Therefore, in the work of cadres, the cause of building revolutionary ethics for the team of political cadres is both fundamental and long-term, but more urgent than ever!
Since the difficult years, with many difficult challenges and sometimes "a thousand pounds hanging by a thread" of the resistance war against the French colonialists, our Party and President Ho Chi Minh have always been conscious of educating and demanding highly of the cadres, first of all political cadres. They must meet the requirements of new ethics, socialist ethics in all three aspects: towards themselves, towards others and towards work. Contributing to helping readers perceive correctly, sufficiently and promptly the current ethical situation of the cadres of political leaders in the market economy, integrating our country in recent years, thereby proposing effective solutions; among the books on this topic, the National Political Publishing House has introduced to readers the book Ethics of political leaders today - current situation and solutions (2005).
With 3 chapters, in the last chapter, the authors propose directions and main solutions to improve the moral qualities of our country's current political leadership team. In this important chapter, the authors pay special attention to improving the moral qualities of cadres in relation to socio-economic development, education and training, Party building and rectification, and further promoting the fight against negativity...
Human morality in general must be assessed first of all by motivation, attitude, and work efficiency; by clear contributions to society; by words that go hand in hand with actions... New morality, Ho Chi Minh's morality, is completely foreign to formal, irresponsible, ineffective, and self-serving labor. Discussing new morality, revolutionary morality, we always have the happiness to be reflected in Uncle Ho's moral example. Right from the first chapter, the book clearly states Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on moral requirements for party members and cadres. Uncle taught: "A revolutionary must have morality, without morality, no matter how talented, he cannot lead the people!" Specifically, that morality needs to ensure the following contents:
- For me, setting a shining example of thrift, integrity, impartiality and selflessness.
- To others, mainly to the people, I am both a leader and a loyal "servant" trusted by the people.
- Dedicated to work, highly responsible, not afraid of sacrifice or loss.
Ho Chi Minh's moral thought about cadres in general is that words must always go hand in hand with actions. Sometimes, actions come first and words come later, silently doing without saying anything, because "the core of revolutionary ethics, of the revolution in ethics, is not just preaching and explaining ethics but also action, based on a new concept of ethics".
Coming from many purposes, many perspectives, many different ways of analysis and expression, most of the articles in the above book meet at one point. That is the moral thought, humanism of Ho Chi Minh is especially bright, noble, sacred but also very close to everyone, easy to understand, easy to remember and anyone who is determined and patriotic can follow! In recent years, we have launched a campaign to study and follow the moral thought of Ho Chi Minh. Besides many typical examples contributing to the stability of the economic, cultural, social fields, and the strengthening of national defense and security, there are still many individuals and incidents that make Uncle Ho's spirit sad.
The document of the 11th National Congress (January 2011) clearly stated: “The state of political, ideological, moral and lifestyle degradation in a significant number of cadres and party members, and the state of corruption, waste, bureaucracy, negatives and social evils have not been prevented and pushed back but continue to develop in a complicated manner, along with the polarization between rich and poor and the weakness in management and administration at many levels and sectors, reducing people's trust in the Party and State, threatening the stability and development of the country.” General Vo Nguyen Giap has warned more than once about the situation where there are people who say that Ho Chi Minh's moral thought is very good and correct, but unfortunately they are not exemplary in their lifestyle and work. Those at high levels do not practice Uncle Ho's morality as well as those at lower levels. Finally, the General emphasized to all those who study Uncle Ho: “Understand, absorb Uncle Ho's words and must follow him. Do! Do! Do! And do!”.
Let's return to the ethics of cadres under our regime. When Uncle Ho spoke to party members who had been active for a long time in the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh (December 9, 1961), he clearly stated: "The Party is each of us. The Party grows because each of us grows." He also had very high requirements: "Comrades, you must work very hard. The Party needs more and more party members and cadres to be exemplary in whatever they do." The ethics of cadres must be like that, the ethics of political leaders in our country, today and tomorrow, must be even more so!
