Evaluation of the results of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee recently held a meeting to evaluate the results of the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development up to June 2011 and to deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year. Representatives from the departments of agriculture and rural development, construction, planning and investment and a number of related sectors attended the meeting.

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, in 2010 Nghe An completed the establishment of the management and operation apparatus and the steering committee from the province to the communes. The province approved the plan to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the period 2010 to 2020. The target set for 20% of the province by 2015 and 50% of the communes by 2020 to meet the new rural standards according to the set of criteria. Up to now, the districts have basically implemented the survey on schedule, following 19 criteria and 39 targets according to regulations. Of which, 10 criteria have achieved quite well: Traffic, irrigation, schools, post offices, forms of production organization, education, health care, political system; 4 criteria have achieved average and 5 criteria have achieved low: Planning, income, poverty rate, labor structure, culture.
