(Baonghean) -Burdened with responsibility, burdened with all the steep roads to the polling station, voters of all ethnic groups in Ky Son district still arrived in time for the National Festival, where citizens can express their sacred rights to the country. Nearly 100% of voters went to the polls in the early election yesterday (May 20) which is the most beautiful proof of the hearts of the ethnic groups in the highlands of Ky Son towards and trust in the votes to choose their representatives.
After many months of preparation and anticipation, on May 20, 17,786 voters of all ethnic groups in 11 remote communes of the border district of Ky Son enthusiastically went to vote for deputies to the 13th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
Mong boys and girls wear the most beautiful traditional clothes,
invited each other to the polling place very early.
Together with the leaders of Ky Son district, at 6 am we were present at Trung Tam village, Muong Long commune to prepare for the opening ceremony. On all roads leading to 11 communes (9 border communes, 2 remote communes), despite the unfavorable weather (heavy rain caused traffic jams in many sections), from Muong Xen to the communes and villages, the red color of billboards, banners, slogans, and flags were fluttering.
Loudspeakers were blaring from polling stations; drums were beating from everywhere, creating an extremely lively, joyful, and exciting atmosphere. Voters from 11 remote communes in Ky Son district who had previously held elections were mostly Mong, Thai, Kho Mu ethnic groups... On the day we exercised our citizenship rights, we saw all the girls and young men wearing their ethnic traditional costumes, happily heading to the voting area in the village, making the atmosphere even more exciting.
Take a close look at the list of people you will vote for.
At exactly 7 o'clock, the opening ceremony was held at 105 early voting stations. At Trung Tam village, Muong Long commune, after the flag-raising ceremony, checking the sealing of ballot boxes and disseminating the voting room regulations, Mr. Va Phai Tenh (former Party Secretary of the commune), father of martyr Va Ba Giai, was the first to exercise his civil rights. Next was voter Vu Y Mai, just turned 18 years old, of Muong Long commune, Ky Son district.
Talking to us after receiving the voter card stamped “voted”, Mr. Va Phai Tenh talked about his feelings about the significance of this election and hoped that all voters of the commune would exercise their right to be masters, participate in voting at a high rate, and wisely choose people with enough virtue and talent to shoulder the country’s responsibilities, contributing to the development of their homeland.
Election officials carefully and enthusiastically guide voters.
Mr. Vy Hai Thanh - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Election Committee of Ky Son District, said: By 7:00 p.m. on May 20, according to the preliminary results reported at 105 early voting stations, nearly 100% of voters had participated in voting. On May 21, we will re-examine the election preparation work in the remaining 9 communes and 1 town to conduct the election on May 22.
To prepare for a successful election, Ky Son district attaches great importance to propaganda work in both breadth and depth. Especially in ethnic minority areas, election officials combine propaganda in both the common language and the local language in meetings, film screenings, cultural and artistic performances so that voters of all ages can correctly understand the election law.
The early election day in Ky Son district ended successfully with stable political security, social order and safety, no problems occurred and it truly became a great festival for the people here.
