Portuguese football representatives have announced that they are ready to let coach Andre Villas-Boas leave if any club meets the buyout clause in the contract signed by both parties, but so far no offers have been made.

According to information published by the BBC and The Times, The Blues are in contact to bring coach Andre Villas-Boas to the Premier League this summer. Many newspapers in Portugal also believe that coach Andre Villas-Boas is on his way to London to take the hot seat at the Stamford Bridge club left by coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Chelsea are planning to bring coach Andre Villas-Boas to Stamford Bridge

In response to conflicting information being published by the media, in a statement to the press today (June 21), Porto's representative denied the information that the Premier League representative had agreed to pay 15 million euros to buy back the contract of the 33-year-old Portuguese strategist: "Porto confirms that, like some of the club's players, coach Andre Villas-Boas has a contract termination clause. So far we have not received any offer or information that this clause will be implemented."

Although the Portuguese club have denied reports that talks are underway, analysts believe the Blues have identified the 33-year-old Portuguese as their top target. According to The Times, Chelsea are in talks with Andre Villas-Boas and in a statement to the press Porto president Pinta da Costa admitted that he could not prevent Villas-Boas from joining the Premier League if the terms of his contract were met: “Villas-Boas has a contract with the club and a €15m release clause. If a club agrees to pay €15m to our account and Villas-Boas wants to leave, we cannot do anything to stop him because it is a clause in the contract we signed.”

Along with Villas-Boas, Guus Hiddink, who helped Chelsea win the FA Cup as interim manager of the Blues in 2009, is also considered a leading candidate to take over Ancelotti's position. Many believe the Dutchman will return to Stamford Bridge.

A Blues spokesman said: “We hope to be able to make an announcement regarding the club’s new manager in the next few days, but until then we will not be commenting further on the speculation surrounding Andre Villas-Boas.
