Celebrating World Population Day 11/7
On the morning of July 11, in Tan Ky district, Nghe An Department of Health coordinated with the Provincial Population Department to organize a ceremony to celebrate World Population Day on July 11, along with a summary of population and family planning work in the first 6 months of the year and launch a special emulation campaign towards the 50th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Population Sector on December 26.

In recent times, the awareness of cadres, party members and people on population and family planning issues has changed significantly. Currently, the population growth rate of the province is at 1.2%. However, Nghe An is currently in the top 10 provinces with the highest birth rate in the country. In the first 6 months of this year, the number of births increased by 883 compared to the same period last year. The implementation of contraceptive measures has not met the requirements, the rate of malnourished children is 21.7%, the situation of unwanted pregnancies and abortions has not decreased.
