Vehicles with substandard braking systems account for 54%

According to information from the Vietnam Register (Ministry of Transport), from April 1 to April 30, all motor vehicle inspection units nationwide inspected over 148,000 vehicles.

Of which, over 82% of vehicles meet technical safety and environmental protection standards.

However, analysis of the quality of the vehicles inspected this time shows that 54% of them do not meet brake system standards.

Previously, in the first quarter, the Department inspected more than 400,000 motor vehicles.

Specifically, from January 1 to March 31, all motor vehicle inspection units nationwide inspected more than 400,000 vehicles, of which 81.5% met technical safety and environmental protection standards, and 18.5% did not meet standards.

In addition, in April 2011, the Registry Department inspected the quality of 5,072 imported cars of all types (including 4,330 new unused cars and 742 used cars) and inspected the quality of 1,886 imported specialized motorbikes.

To implement the plan assigned in 2011, the Vietnam Register Training Center plans to open at least 49 specialized training courses in the fields of motor vehicle registration, railway registration, and water registration.
