For the past 8 years, at his home, Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, a blind war invalid in Nam Linh commune, Nam Dan, has devoted all his energy and enthusiasm to supplementing knowledge for students in Nam Linh commune and neighboring areas.

During the fierce battle with the enemy in the 559th Division, Truong Son troops, Route 9, Southern Laos on November 19, 1968, Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa lost the light in his eyes. He thought, since he could no longer see the light, he had to use sound as a bridge to the community.

Leaders of the Department of Education and the District Association for Promotion of Education presented gifts to the class on the opening day.

He taught himself all kinds of instruments and learned to play the flute. It was difficult for someone with eyes, let alone a blind person, but he was not discouraged. Thanks to that, he was proficient in all kinds of musical instruments. Every time he performed at festivals for the blind, his guitar and drum sounds touched people's hearts and he won many awards. In particular, he participated in the 30th Sen Village Festival 30 times. Or like the "Drinking water, remembering its source" festival in Anh Son, he won a special award.

He always worried that Nam Dan was a land of learning, the economy was only rice cultivation, so it was poor, in hamlet 5, Nam Linh commune, his hometown, there were also 2 people who had PhD degrees, so how could he maintain the love of learning of his children and grandchildren, consolidate their knowledge without spending money? He suddenly thought that he would teach his grandchildren math...

Having a mathematical mindset, he had never lectured in class, had no teaching methods, so how could he impart knowledge to his students in an easy-to-understand and easy-to-remember way... Once again, he had to study on his own to consolidate his knowledge and teaching methods. He studied and researched thoroughly through the radio that he always carried with him.

The class was formed, at first many parents did not believe he could teach because he was blind and had never been a teacher, so the class only had a few children who came to him to ask for lessons. Gradually, seeing the children's progress, the parents trusted him and came to him to ask him to teach. There was a class leader, a deputy class leader, a list, a roll call, and it was very impressive that the class was a village but the students were all in white shirts, berets and red scarves. Mr. Khoa said: "I want the children to always remember that they are members of the team, children of Uncle Ho, living and studying in his homeland."

His eyes cannot see light, so when he teaches, he sometimes needs a "teaching assistant", a student in the class with good academic performance and beautiful handwriting, to help him draw geometry lessons vividly and make them easy for students to understand.

Seeing the children's good results in their studies, the parents came to thank them and sent them tuition money, but Mr. Khoa refused to accept it. He said: The Party and the State have raised him, now he teaches the children, making progress and achieving good results is the most precious reward for him.
