MU proposes contract extension with Park Ji Sung
Manager Alex Ferguson has revealed that Man United are offering Park Ji-sung a two-year contract extension.
It seemed that next season could be Park's last at Man United as the Korean player has reached the age of 30, an age that is no longer young for players from Asia to maintain stable performance in a harsh environment like the Premier League. However, Park's fiery fighting spirit and professional attitude have helped Man United offer him a two-year contract extension. Park has now retired from the Korean national team to focus on his career.

Meanwhile, Ferguson has confirmed that new goalkeeper David de Gea will start for Man United against Chicago Fire at Soldier Field next Saturday. The Spaniard is racing against time to settle into his new team and regain his form after the summer break.
ESPN quoted Ferguson as saying: “De Gea will play this weekend. He has been training in recent days and the results are quite good. He is young and not used to English matches, the most important thing for him right now is time. From another perspective, he can learn from what Cech did at Chelsea. Cech went there as a young goalkeeper and never lost his position. De Gea also has similar qualities. Hopefully he can integrate with the new team soon.”
Like last season, Man United took advantage of the pre-season tour in the US to conduct new exercises for the players. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions in some cities where Man United is based, the Scottish strategist was forced to reduce the workload for the players. The "Red Devils" coach shared: "The weather in Seattle is not really favorable. It is a challenge for us. We have a plan to prepare but we may have to shorten the training programs."
