Slow site clearance affects construction progress

After completing phase 1, the Department of Transport has directed the implementation of the bidding packages of phase 2. However, due to lack of capital and many shortcomings in compensation and site clearance, some bidding packages are still stuck.

The Western Nghe An traffic project passes through the three districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Que Phong with a total length of 226 km. The contractor has been assigned to construct TA 16 - the first section of the route from Tri Le, Que Phong district to Ky Son. Although construction has started and equipment has been put into operation for 2 years, the progress of this package is very slow, due to difficulties in compensation and site clearance. Especially in the areas of Ban Xan and Na Nieng, Tri Le commune. TA 16 is only 6 km long, except for Ban Xan bridge which has been completed, the access roads to both ends of the bridge are still blocked due to the lack of site clearance. Talking to us, Mr. Le Thanh Binh, chief consultant of the Tay - Nghe An Traffic Project, phase 2 said: Up to now, the contractor has only been handed over 1.7 km of the site for the first section of this package through Ban Xa. The remaining households have not yet handed over the site. Some households have received compensation; Some other households, although having signed the document accepting the compensation price, did not receive the money due to questions about the low compensation price... The delay in site clearance in Ban Xan area not only affects the TA 16 package but also affects the progress of the packages inside due to traffic congestion, contractors cannot transport materials and equipment for construction.

In Na Nieng village, 17 households have illegally built houses at the starting point of the package.
