Special Working Group Meeting of Nghe An – Xieng Khouang – Vientiane Provinces

(Baonghean) –Recently, in Phonsavan Town, Xieng Khouang Province, Lao PDR, the Special Working Group of the three provinces of Nghe An, Xieng Khouang, and Vientiane held a high-level meeting on the search and recovery of martyrs' remains in Laos.

Attending the talks, on the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Special Working Committee of Nghe An province, members of the Special Working Committee and the Collection Delegation - Nghe An Provincial Military Command.



The Special Working Group of the three provinces of Nghe An, Xieng Khouang and Vientiane signed the minutes of the meeting to implement tasks for the 2011-2012 dry season.

At the meeting, comrade Duong Chit Chang Xay Vang - Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Working Group of Xieng Khouang province, on behalf of the Special Working Group of the three provinces, reported on the assessment of the work of searching, collecting and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos during the two resistance wars against France and the US in the dry season of 2010 - 2011. He also highly appreciated the noble sacrifices that Vietnamese volunteer soldiers have made, bringing prosperity and independence to Laos today.

With such noble sacrifice, the Special Working Group of the Lao and Vietnamese Governments assigned tasks and plans to the Working Groups of the three provinces to coordinate with the most effective measures to search, collect and repatriate the remains of martyrs. In the dry season of 2010 - 2011, the two provinces of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane actively mobilized the masses, organizations and authorities to coordinate with the Nghe An Province Repatriation Team to make efforts to search, collect and hand over to the Nghe An Province Special Working Group 160 graves, achieving 200% of the plan set by the Special Working Groups of the two governments.

Through discussion and exchange, the Special Working Group of the three provinces agreed on the policy of coordinating and directing the implementation of the collection task during the 2011-2012 dry season, striving to collect and repatriate 62 sets of remains, of which Xieng Khouang province has 49 sets of remains and Vientiane province has 13 sets of remains.

At the end of the meeting, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Special Work Committee of Nghe An province, comrade Duong Chit Chang Xay Vang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Work Committee of Xieng Khouang province and comrade Bun Mi Phut Tha Vong - Deputy Secretary, Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Work Committee of Vientiane province signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers to bring back to the country in the dry season of 2011-2012.

On the occasion of working in Xieng Khouang province (Laos), comrade Le Xuan Dai also visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of the Quy Tap Group - Provincial Military Command. The Vice Chairman of the province highly appreciated the results that officers and soldiers of the Quy Tap Group have achieved in recent years, and noted that in the coming time, the search and recovery of martyrs' remains will mainly be in remote areas, so the implementation of the task will face many difficulties and hardships. Therefore, all officers and soldiers need to continue to overcome difficulties and hardships, be more determined and make more efforts to successfully complete the special task assigned by the Party, the State and the people.

Also on this occasion, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and presented gifts to the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Military Command and the Xieng Khouang Provincial Police.
