Muang Thong United Club (Thailand) has just unexpectedly terminated the contract with former Vietnam national team coach Henrique Calisto.

The above information has also been confirmed by the Thai team on the club's official website. However, the representative of Muang Thong United did not reveal the specific reason, only saying that the decision was agreed by both sides.

With the dismissal of coach Calisto after nearly 7 months of leading, Muang Thong United's board of directors temporarily appointed assistant coach Sarawut Treephan to lead the team, playing against SCG Samut Songkhram tomorrow.

With this decision, Muang Thong United's board of directors hopes that Sarawut Treephan will bring luck to the team after being eliminated in the AFC Cup quarter-finals by Kuwait SC.

In the domestic arena, Muang Thong United are currently 12 points behind the leading team Buriram. Currently, the tournament has 12 rounds left to end and Muang Thong United has two matches left to play, but their ability to defend the championship is not high.

Coach Calisto officially joined Muang Thong United on March 7 after leaving the Vietnam national team. His contract with the T-League champion is for 2 years, with a salary of over 30,000 USD/month.

However, like his predecessor Carlos Roberto Carvalho, who only led the team for a few weeks, Calisto eventually had to leave./.
