Conference on disseminating the Law on Consumer Protection

This morning (September 9), in Cua Lo town (Nghe An), the Competition Management Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Multilateral Trade Support Project Phase 3 (EU-VIET NAM MUTRAP III), Nghe An Province Department of Industry and Trade organized a "Conference to disseminate the Law on Consumer Protection" for provinces in the North Central region.

(Baonghean) -This morning (September 9), in Cua Lo town (Nghe An), the Competition Management Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Multilateral Trade Support Project Phase 3 (EU-VIET NAM MUTRAP III), Nghe An Province Department of Industry and Trade organized a "Conference to disseminate the Law on Consumer Protection" for provinces in the North Central region.

The Law on Consumer Rights Protection was passed by the 12th National Assembly, 8th session on November 17, 2010 and officially took effect from July 1, 2011, replacing the 1999 Ordinance on Consumer Rights Protection. Compared to previous regulations, the law has many new points, notably the provisions on prohibited acts in the field of consumer rights protection such as deceiving or confusing consumers through advertising, concealing, providing incomplete or false information by organizations and individuals; harassing consumers through marketing of goods...

Through this conference, it will be an opportunity for agencies, organizations, business communities and consumers to better understand the contents of the Law on Consumer Rights Protection, especially the provisions related to the responsibilities of agencies, organizations and business communities in protecting consumer rights.
