Congress of delegates of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Quynh Luu district, term 2006-2011
(Baonghean) -On November 27, 2011, the Quynh Luu District Youth Volunteer Veterans Association held a congress for the 2006-2011 term.
The Quynh Luu Veterans Association was established in 43/43 communes, with 2,079 members. During the past term, the Quynh Luu Veterans Association has always promoted revolutionary traditions, regularly performed well in political and ideological work, and thoroughly disseminated the association's principles and goals to its members. The entire district donated and repaired 20 houses for members in difficult circumstances, totaling more than 200 million VND. The ward and commune Youth Union Associations also mobilized members to build a fund for comradeship and help each other develop the economy and reduce poverty.
In 5 years, the association has processed procedures for 486 members to enjoy health insurance and 25 to enjoy funeral expenses. Currently, there are 35 martyrs, 274 war invalids, 1,213 one-time and regular allowances, and 1,312 people who have been awarded TNXP commemorative medals. The association has many member households that are good at doing business. Typical members include Ngo Cu, a parishioner in Quynh Trang commune who invested billions of dong in producing construction materials, and Tran Thi Lai in Quynh Dien commune.
At the congress, delegates discussed and proposed a number of directions such as: continuing to review and classify the quantity and quality, and resolving the regime for members; promptly grasping the aspirations and wishes to visit and help members overcome difficulties; strengthening inspection work in conjunction with quarterly and annual association work programs to contribute to building and consolidating the increasingly strong association organization.
