Yen Thanh - Dien Chau: Preventing the risk of dam breakage

In Dien Chau district, over 200 hectares of corn along the coast of Dien Thanh, Dien Trung... were flooded. Thanks to the timely operation of drainage sluices such as Dien Thanh, Dien Thuy, and Dien Hai sluices, the rice area has not been damaged.

For Yen Thanh district, this year, the structure of 13,400 hectares of summer-autumn rice has been structured, and about 10% of the area has been harvested. The floods in the past 3 days have caused flooding of nearly 2,000 hectares of rice, concentrated in the communes of Khanh Thanh, Long Thanh, Vien Thanh, and Nam Thanh, of which the most severely flooded communes are Lang Thanh and Hau Thanh communes, with 164 hectares of rice inundated and at risk of total loss. Yen Thanh People's Committee has directed localities to mobilize forces to clear sewers and obstacles on the Vach Bac drainage canal, Phu Thanh drainage canal to Dien Thai (Dien Chau). Yen Thanh also has more than 200 small dams that are currently overflowing, and the district is directing communes to release the overflow of the above dams to avoid the risk of dam failure.
