Do Luong district launches its 9th annual Tet Education Promotion program.

(Baonghean)This afternoon, January 5th, 2012, the Do Luong District Association for the Promotion of Learning held a meeting to summarize its activities in 2011 and launch the 9th "Learning Promotion Tet" campaign.

In 2011, the Do Luong Education Promotion Association effectively carried out social mobilization and communication work, creating a shift in awareness among members and the people, promoting the emulation movement for education and talent development, building society, and establishing education promotion funds from the district to the grassroots level, including hamlets, villages, and clans, with many diverse and rich forms. To date, Do Luong district has 34,350 members and 886 out of 1,358 clans have education promotion committees. During the year, the entire district mobilized 3.1 billion VND, awarded 2.1 billion VND in scholarships to 1,030 students, and distributed 1.8 billion VND in rewards to 22,100 outstanding students at all levels and those admitted to universities, colleges, and vocational schools. The activities of the education promotion association have promptly encouraged and assisted students from disadvantaged backgrounds to excel in their studies.

In 2012, the Do Luong District Education Promotion Association strived to build a fund of 3 billion VND (an average of 15,000 VND/person/year), with 80% of families and clans in the district achieving the title of "Education Promotion Unit". To effectively carry out education promotion work during the Lunar New Year of 2012, the Do Luong Education Promotion Association launched the 9th "Education Promotion Tet" campaign.

On this occasion, the Do Luong Association for the Promotion of Learning awarded prizes to 20 collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in the movement to promote learning.
