Bac Nghe An Irrigation Company inspects and maintains eroded and silted irrigation canals.
(Baonghean) -After the "Hotline Information" of Nghe An newspaper on December 7 reported on the situation of some sections of the Bac Nghe An Irrigation Canal from Do Luong to Quynh Luu being filled up and eroded without being dredged, on December 8, Bac Irrigation One Member Co., Ltd. issued Document No. 196/CTB in response as follows:
The Northern Nghe An Irrigation System from Do Luong to Quynh Luu is 56 km long. In 2011, due to the impact of storms and rains, many canal sections were damaged, eroded and silted up, affecting the water supply for production in the 4 districts of Northern Nghe An.
Faced with that situation, the Company has shut down the water system to check, survey and calculate the hydraulics of each specific cross-section on each canal section to come up with a dredging and repair plan, submitted it to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for approval and has focused resources on maintenance and repair. Thanks to that, it has overcome and met the water supply requirements for production in 2012 in the area, especially the end of the canal in Quynh Luu district.
In addition, implementing the movement of the whole people to join forces to build irrigation works, the Company has mobilized all cadres, workers and employees and coordinated with the People's Committees of the districts to mobilize the people in the area to maintain and repair works serving production. Specifically, in Quynh Luu district, in addition to the people and the army, tens of thousands of working days of 10 high schools were also mobilized to focus on dredging irrigation works to ensure the best water supply service, which was highly agreed and supported by the People's Committee of the district and the people in the province.
The information reported by the newspaper about the company falsifying the volume for payment is unfounded. The company will check all units and factories in the entire system. If there are negative cases as reported by the newspaper, it will be seriously handled and corrected.
