UK releases photos of Pacific Ring of Fire

Recently, for the first time, British scientists have published images recorded by underwater scanning technology of the Pacific Ring of Fire - an area where earthquakes and volcanic eruptions often occur. They hope that these images can help to better understand earthquakes, tsunamis, etc.

This is the work of scientists from Oxford and Durham Universities. Over the summer, they studied several areas of the Pacific Ocean floor using the most modern underwater scanning techniques to create unprecedented images of the sea floor and to learn how the vast resources below the sea floor work.
