(Baonghean) -This morning (December 11), more than 400 people from 6 villages of Chi Khe commune (Con Cuong) organized a campaign to reconnect water pipes damaged in the flash flood in mid-September.

As reported by baonghean.vn, this project with an investment capital of 4.5 billion VND has been put into use since 2005, supplying domestic water to 5 Thai ethnic villages in Chi Khe commune. The flood caused many pipelines to break and cannot be reused, and the upstream water storage dam was broken and needed to be rebuilt. The initial survey by the Commune People's Committee showed that this project needs to replace about 800m of water pipes.

People reconnect water pipes damaged in flash floods

Just in the morning of the campaign, thousands of meters of water pipes damaged by the flood were reconnected by the people so that the project could be put back into operation to serve the people's domestic water needs.

Vice Chairman of Chi Khe Commune People's Committee, Mr. Lo Thanh Vinh said that the government and people are making efforts to restore the clean water pipeline system so that it can be used again in December 2011.
