(Baonghean.vn) - Nguyen Van Dy was born in 1959, in a family with a rich revolutionary tradition, his father was a soldier fighting against the French. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the 1st Army Corps. In 1981, he was discharged from the army and returned to his hometown with the rank of Second Lieutenant as a reserve officer. Since then, for 30 years, he has been attached to his hometown of Hung Phuc (Hung Phuc) in many different positions.

From June 2004 to present, he has been the Commander of the Military Command of Hung Phuc Commune. To fulfill that responsibility, he spends time visiting hamlets and families to understand the circumstances of each militia soldier, reserve soldier, and young man of military age to advise the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune correctly and effectively.

At the end of 2010, when the whole Hung Nguyen district was severely flooded, he commanded a mobile militia platoon to seize property, protect buffaloes, cows, pigs, chickens for the people, especially helping single-parent families, families of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers... Not only helping the people of his commune, he also commanded 50 militia to support Hung Loi commune, promptly rescuing the Kenh Thap dike, which was highly appreciated by the district People's Committee and the people.

In 2009, he trained and introduced to the Party Committee of the commune to admit 2 militia soldiers who were parishioners into the Party. They were soldier Nguyen Van Sinh, now the village leader of village 6; Nguyen Van Sen, after being admitted to the Party, both strove to fulfill his militia duties and participated as a member of the Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union. With cases of demobilized soldiers, he grasped the family circumstances of each person to have appropriate career advice. Many cases such as: Nguyen Van Sao, Nguyen Van Nhien (young parishioners), Nguyen Van Thuan, Duong Van Nhat... after completing their military service, were advised by him on career orientation, boldly borrowed capital to go abroad to work, and now have a high income to send home to support their families. His close, timely, and effective attention is truly a valuable "spiritual medicine", encouraging families and youth in the commune to confidently join the army as well as participate in local militia and self-defense activities.

Major Nguyen Ky Hong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Hung Nguyen District Military Command, shared: "Comrade Nguyen Van Dy is a Commune Team Leader who is always enthusiastic, responsible, and close to his work and the area. In 2010, he was awarded the title of Emulation Fighter by the Nghe An Provincial Military Command; in early 2011, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Nghe An Provincial Party Executive Committee for excellently completing his tasks for 5 consecutive years (2006 - 2010). The joy was complete when, on this occasion, he was honored to receive the 30-year Party membership badge."
