Domestic gold prices fell by another 100,000 VND per tael.
At 5 PM, SJC gold was listed at 43.2 - 43.5 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price).
Global gold prices rose by $5.4/oz, while domestic prices remained stable. Despite the increase in global gold prices last night and continued upward trend this morning and afternoon in Asia and Europe, domestic gold prices were adjusted downward by up to 100,000 VND/ounce in the afternoon after remaining unchanged in the morning session.

The price difference between the two markets is currently around 2 million VND per tael.
Specifically, at 4:40 PM, SJC gold from Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) lost another 100,000 VND/ounce, listed at 43.2 - 43.5 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price).
Meanwhile, on the global market, gold prices in the European session continued to hold firm above $1,621/oz.
Global gold prices have been rising steadily since the first trading session of 2012, despite the euro's sharp decline against the US dollar.
The US dollar is currently at its highest exchange rate in a year against a basket of currencies. Investors are aggressively buying USD amid concerns about European sovereign debt, even though French bond yields rose only slightly in the debt auction on January 5th.
