Hanoi approves West Lake - Ba Vi railway project

The Deputy Prime Minister has just agreed to assign the Ministry of Transport to preside over and prepare a feasibility study report for the Hanoi urban railway investment project (South West Lake - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac - Ba Vi route).

Eight railway lines coming into operation in the future will help reduce traffic congestion in Hanoi.

After consideration, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai agreed to assign the Ministry of Transport to preside over, along with the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant agencies to coordinate with JICA to study and prepare a feasibility study report for the Project, determine effective investment forms and capital sources for implementation, and submit it to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.

In the future, Hanoi will have 8 urban railway lines, of which the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line (Hanoi) has started construction in Ba La, Ha Dong district on October 10, 2011. The total length is 13.08 km. The line passes through Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, Tu Liem and Ha Dong districts of Hanoi city, and the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Railway Project Management Board as the investor representative.
