The joy of family reunion on Tet holiday
(Baonghean.vn) -Holding the decision to release 12 prisoners from Nghi Kim Detention Center (Provincial Police) before their sentence ends, they shed tears. After their efforts to reform well, they were reunited with their families this Tet.
This morning, January 19, 2012 (December 26), the Board of Supervisors of Nghe An Provincial Police Detention Center held a ceremony to announce the decision to reduce the prison sentence for prisoners with good achievements in rehabilitation. After 4 rounds of evaluation, 32 prisoners had their prison sentence reduced, of which 12 prisoners had their sentence reduced completely, 1 prisoner had their sentence reduced by 6 months, 4 prisoners had their sentence reduced by 5 months, 9 prisoners had their sentence reduced by 4 months and 6 prisoners had their sentence reduced by 3 months.
Mr. Sam Van B (Quy Chau) could not hide his joy at being reunited with his family after a long time serving a sentence for theft: “Last year, my wife and children had to celebrate a Tet lacking both emotionally and materially. This year, when I return, I will try to make up for it so that everyone can celebrate a warmer Tet. Here, I have learned from the officers the value of labor.
Nguyen Van D (in Dien Hong, Dien Chau) was so happy that he couldn't say a word, just standing silently next to his fellow prisoner who had 18 days left to serve his sentence. Only 18 days, but D had to celebrate another Tet in prison. Understanding his friend's feelings, D was reluctant to leave... "I thought I would have to celebrate Tet in prison, but now I can go home to my parents. For nearly a year, I have had time to think, ponder, and determine for myself a more correct way of life. This is a life lesson for me to strive to live better after leaving prison."
As the only woman whose sentence was reduced early this time, TTL (in Quan Bau ward, Vinh city) both laughed and cried because she was so happy. This morning, when she heard that she would be able to go home before Tet, L had time to ask the officers to call her family to pick her up. Of her 4 children, 2 work at Vung Tau oil and gas. Talking about her children, L shed tears: "I made my children suffer because of an unnecessary mistake, the family is not poor at all... Last Tet, the first time I was away from home, not being able to take care of my children myself, I understood everything. Although the officers were thoughtful, they organized a Tet holiday for my siblings with full banh chung, pickled onions... but how could it be like being at home. Last Tet, I only cried because I missed home, because I regretted the mistake I had made, (L's crime was 1 year and 4 months for illegal possession of narcotics).
Check in before leaving camp
Congratulations on your return to celebrate Tet with your family.
When his name was called to the podium to receive the decision to reduce his sentence from Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thang Long - Warden of the Detention Camp, Hoang Van S (Nghia Dan) was still emotional, and he was flustered before stepping forward: "I am determined to strive to reform myself well and during the review period on the occasion of the Year of the Dragon, I was considered to have my prison sentence reduced. This year, I get to go home to celebrate Tet with my children and grandchildren. I am so moved that I don't know how to express it." Hoang Van S was sentenced to 1 year for intentionally causing injury, and was in prison since February 2011.
Wandering in the space of freedom
Taking off his prisoner clothes, Nguyen Van Th (in Hung Dung ward, Vinh city) happily ran to the gate, where his grandmother, father and sister were waiting. Th hugged his grandmother and cried: "Grandma, I can go home to celebrate Tet with you." Among those who were released early this time, Th was the happiest and did not hide his mistake: "Th's family was well-off, but because he lent money to someone and they deliberately delayed, Th committed the crime of illegally detaining someone... , it was because he did not know much about the law, now it's different...". Th smiled happily and got on the bus...
