Supervising the implementation of resettlement work for Ban Ve Hydropower Plant and Khe Bo Hydropower Plant.
(Baonghean.vn) -After the monitoring program in Thanh Chuong district, this morning (February 24), the Petition Committee under the National Assembly Standing Committee had a monitoring session on the results of resettlement work of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant and Khe Bo Hydropower Plant.
Up to now, the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant Project and Khe Bo Hydropower Plant Project have completed the inventory, pricing, submission to competent authorities for appraisal, approval and full payment of compensation costs for trees, crops, residential land... for people in the villages in the main construction site area, the reservoir area, and the construction sites of resettlement areas.
The delegation worked with people in Vang Mon village, Nga My commune - Tuong Duong district.
The Ban Ve Hydropower Plant Project has completed the construction of infrastructure in the central area of Huu Khuong Commune and handed it over for use in January 2011; the Ca Moong resettlement area has been completed and the relocation of 130 households to the new resettlement area in August 2011. As of January 2012, the total number of relocated households from 31 villages and 8 communes in the Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir area of Tuong Duong District is 2,910 households with 13,668 people. As of the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant Project, as of November 30, 2011, the total number of households that had to be relocated in the Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir area is 585 households/2,650 people. Of which, the total number of households that have been relocated from the reservoir area as of January 30, 2012 is 246 households/1,031 people.
Conducting a field survey at Vang Mon village, Nga My commune, comrade Nguyen Duc Hien and the working group went to the field to learn about the lives of resettled people in the Ban Ve hydropower resettlement area. Vang Mon village, Nga My commune has 92 households/389 people, 100% of whom are O Du ethnic people. Previously, the households lived in the Ban Ve hydropower reservoir area, belonging to Kim Da and Kim Tien communes, Tuong Duong district. After moving to the resettlement area, the people's lives have basically stabilized, with electricity systems, roads, spacious schools and resettlement houses. In addition, the people have also received support from the Party, the State and authorities at all levels in terms of production land, seedlings and training in transferring scientific and technical advances. However, in the long term, the people's lives still face difficulties such as small production land area and unsustainable livestock development.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Hien gave gifts to Mr. Lo Van Thuong's family in Vang Mon village, Nga My commune.
On this occasion, comrade Nguyen Duc Hien - Head of the People's Aspirations Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the working delegation presented 10 gifts to 10 disadvantaged households in Nga My commune, visited and presented gifts to the families of Mr. Lo Van Cang and Lo Van Thuong in Vang Mon village, Nga My commune.
