Don't generalize

(Baonghean) Born and raised on a harsh land with natural disasters and wars, Nghe people are ascetic, steadfast, resilient, united, benevolent,... In every era, they have made an important contribution to the struggle to protect the Fatherland and build the country. That is beyond question.

But, Nghe people are extremist, conservative, stubborn, grumpy,... that's also true. Not only do "outsiders" judge, but we also say and know!

The country is innovating and integrating, Nghe An people go everywhere, in many fields, many people are successful, famous, honored and respected.

However, through many reports in newspapers, the internet,... recently, in production facilities in the South, there have been many cases of workers from Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh drinking alcohol, causing trouble, stealing, dragging each other to quit their jobs, arguing, even "ganging up"...

Recently, a worker at Linh Trung Export Processing Zone said: Normally, there are many workers from Nghe An and they often work together. Whenever there is a problem, dozens of fellow countrymen rush in to threaten them. Before Tet, a person from another province beat another person in Nghe An, and was immediately beaten to death by a gang. The victim was taken to the emergency room, but many elements still aggressively pursued and killed him all the way to the hospital, causing chaos in the whole area,... Some businesses have sent documents to the locality, the family reported or temporarily suspended the acceptance of local workers.

This phenomenon does not only occur in one place but also in several other places, not only domestically but also abroad.

Despite the shortage of labor, many businesses refuse workers from the Central region, including Nghe An. Unfortunately, there are businesses that attract large numbers of workers with attractive salaries, and Nghe An people are very eager to work, but they resolutely refuse. Workers have to accept unemployment or have great difficulty finding jobs.

The above phenomena are only a few, not all. Calm people still do not "generalize", still acknowledge that many Nghe An workers are honest, hard-working, know how to cooperate in business, and know how to handle situations appropriately. But the above phenomenon is worth paying attention to.

Being a citizen that people respect, are friendly with, want to be close to, share, learn from, help, cooperate,... is difficult; but being feared and avoided like the "New Thiet Nguu" is of no use. Not to mention that they have made things difficult for others, tarnished the image of the homeland and the people of Nghe An in the hearts of their friends.

There have been many good articles, many research projects on Nghe An culture, recently there has been a very elaborate project "Developing and improving the quality of human resources...". The problem is how can those projects and projects reach real life - so that Nghe An people can inherit the good traditions of their ancestors, absorb the cultural values, human civilization, integrate and be friendly with all regions of the country, in the region and internationally. Only then can Nghe An people and more broadly Nghe An develop.
