Nghe An Provincial People's Committee holds regular meeting in April 2012

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, April 24, under the chairmanship of comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held its regular meeting in April to listen to and give opinions on the results of the implementation of the conclusion notice of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the regular meeting in March; the implementation of the socio-economic development plan, the state budget estimate in April and the first 4 months of the year; tasks and solutions for May 2012.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc chaired the meeting.

According to the report, the growth rate of the province's gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2012 reached 4.35%/plan of 9.5-10%. Of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 2.11%, industry-construction by 99% of the same period, services increased by 10.5%. In agricultural production, the total area of ​​rice, corn and beans all increased. Attention was paid to the work of mobilizing and attracting investment. As of April 15, 2012, the province had granted investment certificates to 9 projects with a total registered capital of over 459 billion VND. The fields of administrative reform, education-training, health care, culture and sports had positive changes. The work of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, job creation and social security issues were paid attention. In the first 4 months of the year, the whole province created jobs for 7,800 workers, of which 2,500 people were exported; Implement unemployment insurance for 1,200 people; provide regular subsidies for 109,812 subjects with a total amount of more than 65 billion VND....

However, there are still some difficulties and limitations, notably low economic growth rate; difficult production and business situation, many enterprises have to reduce scale and stop operations; low budget revenue (equal to 27.5% of the estimate and 51.6% compared to the same period); tax debt up to nearly 1,000 billion VND; difficult site clearance affects the progress of key works and investment projects. On the social side, some problems have emerged such as poverty rate, hospital overload, ...

Speaking on solutions to overcome difficulties and develop socio-economy in the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested sectors and localities to focus on implementing 5 solutions: Overcoming the epidemic situation, focusing on drought prevention, boosting agricultural production; promoting industrial production, especially processing industry; boosting exports and recovering tax arrears; removing difficulties for enterprises in terms of production premises, capital, market, technological innovation, especially for real estate enterprises, focusing on site clearance; speeding up investment attraction projects; ensuring social security and order...

Also in this morning's meeting, the Provincial People's Committee listened to and gave opinions on the Project to adjust the administrative boundaries of Quynh Luu district to establish Hoang Mai town; the Project to train technical workers for the period 2012-2015 and the following years; the draft action program of the Provincial Party Executive Committee to implement Resolution No. 09NQ/TW of the Politburo on building a team of entrepreneurs; the Project to establish the Land Fund Development Center of Nghe An province.
