Avoid wasting dormitory space for teachers in Hung Trung commune

(Baonghean.vn) - Hung Trung is a remote commune of Hung Nguyen district, with 70% of the population following Christianity. Before 2000, the commune had a high number of students dropping out of school, making it difficult to mobilize children to go to school. With the attention of all levels and sectors, both propaganda and mobilization from many resources, the commune invested in building a fairly spacious and synchronous school facility, especially Nguyen Truong To Secondary School (Hung Trung commune), so the rate of students going to school increased significantly. Not only investing in schools, the locality also built a dormitory with full facilities for teachers to stay and stay temporarily for a long time...

The housing area is built right next to Nguyen Truong To Secondary School, two semi-permanent houses with 11 rooms, including 7 rooms with kitchens, planned on a fairly large campus, with enough toilets, bathrooms, scientific water filtration system, sports field, fish pond,...

Mr. Le Chi Thanh - Vice Principal of Nguyen Truong To Secondary School said: "Having a dormitory for teachers is a great concern of the Party Committee, the district and commune authorities. This is a dormitory for teachers of 3 schools (Primary, Secondary and High School). After construction was completed, the commune handed it over to Nguyen Truong To Secondary School for management. When it was first put into use, this area had from 20 to 25 teachers living there, and there were even years when it had to be reviewed because the number of registrations exceeded the number of available rooms. Having a dormitory for teachers has created many advantages for teachers to feel secure in staying at school and in class."

However, in recent years, the number of teachers living in the dormitory has decreased, and in the 2011-2012 school year, there are only 2 teachers left. The reason why teachers no longer live in the dormitory is because of objective conditions: the roads and means of transportation for teachers are better, and the school only has one shift because the facilities are more complete.

In response to public opinion about the dormitory being empty, leading to waste, during a comprehensive inspection in mid-February, the Hung Nguyen Department of Education and Training directed the school's Board of Directors to study and convert the dormitory rooms into functional rooms, both to avoid waste and to better serve the school's teaching and learning activities.
