(Baonghean.vn) -As of March 31, the total outstanding loans of credit institutions and credit institution branches in Nghe An province were estimated at VND59,691 billion, down VND226 billion compared to the beginning of the year.

Of which, outstanding loans of commercial banks are VND 43,296 billion, accounting for 72.5% of total outstanding loans, down VND 346 billion compared to the beginning of the year (-0.8%); outstanding loans of credit funds are VND 1,445 billion, accounting for 2.5% of total outstanding loans, down VND 14 billion compared to the beginning of the year (-1%); outstanding loans of development banks and social policy banks are VND 14,950 billion, accounting for 25% of total outstanding loans, up VND 136 billion compared to the beginning of the year.

In the first quarter of 2012, credit institutions and branches of credit institutions in the area continued to implement a tightening and cautious lending policy, so outstanding loans in the whole area decreased. The increase in outstanding loans was mainly due to the outstanding medium and long-term loans of the development banks and social policy banks, which continued to disburse for projects that had previously signed loan agreements.

Faced with the general economic difficulties, banks are very cautious in lending investments.
