Overview of the meeting

At the meeting, the comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee and leaders of a number of related sectors focused on evaluating the results after more than 1 year of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development. In particular, it was emphasized that: As of February 2012, the whole province had 349/435 communes that had approved the new rural planning. Although the planning work has not yet reached the progress according to Decision 193/QD-TTg of the Government requiring that by December 31, 2011, the approval of new rural planning in 100% of communes be completed, Nghe An is one of the provinces with high results in new rural planning in the whole country.

Along with completing the planning work, localities focus on promoting vocational training for rural workers, focusing on non-agricultural vocational training, contributing to reducing the proportion of agricultural workers in order to change the labor structure in rural areas. Strengthening the mobilization of investment resources to build infrastructure, planning fields according to the new rural criteria. Focusing on developing production according to specialized models associated with the application of science and technology, increasing income, contributing to shifting the rural labor structure...

Regarding Directive 02 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on mobilizing farmers to convert land to carry out industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas, after more than 10 years of implementation, it has also achieved good results. However, compared to the requirements of large-scale production in agriculture and new rural construction, it has not been achieved. Delegates analyzed and clarified the causes of difficulties and limitations, and at the same time raised the issue that the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee needs to issue a Directive to continue directing and mobilizing farmers to convert land to meet the requirements of agricultural economic development and new rural construction.
