(Baonghean.vn) -As reported, this morning in Hanoi, the National Conference summarizing the work of foreign information, propaganda of sea and islands, and border demarcation and marker planting last year closed. 75 collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit for these achievements.
Comrade Dinh The Huynh - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work directed the Conference and delivered an important speech concluding the Conference.
Comrade Dinh The Huynh awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Propaganda Department of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee - one of 38 collectives receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Central Propaganda Department.
After summarizing the 4 basic points achieved and pointing out 4 limitations in foreign information work, propaganda on seas, islands and border demarcation and marker planting, as well as recording more than 20 opinions expressed at the Conference, Comrade Dinh The Huynh emphasized 6 contents that need attention in 2012 and the coming time. Along with thoroughly grasping Conclusion No. 16-KL/TU dated February 14, 2012 of the Politburo on "Foreign information development strategy for the period 2011-2012" to departments, ministries, branches, localities, press agencies, and representative agencies of Vietnam abroad, he noted the need to base on the Action Program to implement the Strategy; based on Decision 79/2010/QD-TTg dated October 30, 2010; Decision No. 67/2011/QD-TTg dated November 12, 2011 of the Prime Minister promulgating the regulations on unified management of foreign affairs activities and regulations of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities in the spirit of the Strategy. Focus on widely disseminating important events of the country, activities on even years and full years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and other countries.
In the immediate future, focus on activities for the "Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year" and "Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year"; foreign information work closely follows the foreign affairs activities of the Party, State, people's diplomacy, and work on overseas Vietnamese; strengthen coordination between agencies doing foreign information work and effectively implement the mechanism for exchange and coordination between foreign information and domestic information; continue to expand foreign information, propaganda on seas, islands and land border demarcation and marker planting. Identify key press and media agencies, fields, locations, and propaganda products for focused investment; expand cooperation, take advantage of prestigious news agencies and newspapers in the region and the world, foreign correspondents residing in Vietnam and newspapers with positive views in the overseas Vietnamese community to accurately propagate the situation in Vietnam, the foreign policies of our Party and State, contributing to making the people The world's people have a correct understanding of the country, people, culture and renovation process in Vietnam; Strengthen the fight against hostile arguments, false information and viewpoints that distort the guidelines, policies and strategies of our Party and State, especially on national border sovereignty, the East Sea issue, and issues of ethnicity, democracy and human rights.
Comrade Dinh The Huynh said that propaganda work on seas and islands is very difficult and complicated, requiring agencies, units and the press to make efforts with many diverse, creative and convincing forms to meet both strategic requirements: firmly protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, because that is extremely sacred to each of us Vietnamese; at the same time maintaining a peaceful, stable environment and friendly relations with peoples around the world and with neighboring countries so that our country can continue to develop more quickly and sustainably. Comrade Dinh The Huynh requested that immediately after this conference, each sector, organization, locality, agency and unit urgently develop and complete plans for implementing foreign information work, propaganda on seas and islands and demarcation and marker planting in 2012, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks, maintaining national defense and security, and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress and resolutions of the Central Committee, the National Assembly and the Government.
