Que Phong - Heavy rain and whirlwinds caused heavy damage

(Baonghean.vn) - After many hot and humid days, on the afternoon of May 4, 2012, in Que Phong district, heavy rain and whirlwinds lasted for nearly 1 hour (from 4pm to 3pm), causing 10 houses to collapse completely, dozens of houses had their roofs blown off, walls collapsed, and hundreds of trees were broken.

Chau Kim and Que Son communes suffered the most damage with 4 houses collapsed. Que Son Secondary School alone had the corrugated iron roofs of functional rooms blown away by the wind, and trees in the school yard were broken and scattered. In the heavy rain and strong wind, although there was thunder and lightning, fortunately there were no human casualties.

Immediately after the rain, the People's Committee of Que Phong district sent officials to work with local authorities to inspect and assess the damage, and encouraged people to join hands to repair their houses and quickly stabilize their lives.
